After refusing to hire a diversity consultant, the HFPA went ahead and recently put some advisors on their payroll, announcing at the Golden Globes, which were an anemic affair this year, that they would make changes....

After revealing she was not invited to the 94th Academy Awards, “West Side Story” breakout star Zegler has reportedly been asked to be a presenter at the Oscars on Sunday, March 27. Zegler is currently in London filming Disney’s “Snow White,” per The Hollywood Reporter, but the production schedule has now reportedly been shifted to accommodate Zegler’s Oscar appearance. IndieWire has reached out to representatives at the Academy and ABC, which hosts the telecast, for comment....

There’s no rulebook for fitting two books’ worth of story into eight episodes of TV. It would be a hard enough undertaking if that source material was set in a single location or one that didn’t have a gargantuan, seemingly endless magical void stretching across the horizon. The Fold was just one hurdle in bringing “Shadow and Bone” to television. Aside from representing in visual form some of the otherworldly fantasy elements in Leigh Bardugo’s book universe, showrunner Eric Heisserer wanted to figure out a way to situate non-readers in this world as well....
