It’s finally Disney+ Day! The celebration of the streaming giant’s two-year anniversary is already kicking off with a bang, with “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” debuting on Disney+ November 12, along with a slew of other movies and much more. “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” which was released in theaters in September, stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Awkwafina, and Fela Chen. The action-packed Marvel film is about a martial arts master confronting his past.
Also debuting November 12, a first look at Oscar Isaac in “Moon Knight,” an upcoming Marvel series about a complex vigilante who struggles with dissociative identity disorder. The globetrotting adventure series, directed by Mohamed Diab, will arrive on Disney+ in 2022. Other Disney+ animated and live action original series on the way include Jeremy Renner’s “Hawkeye,” which debuts on November 24. Emmy nominee Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness in the “Agatha House of Harkness” a “WandaVision” spinoff series that will reveal more about the character. “Spider-man Freshman Year,” “I am Groot,” “Secret Invasion,” “Marvel Zombies,” “Echo,” “Ms. Marvel,” “She Hulk,” and Season 2 of “What If…?” are in the works, while new episodes of the animated series “X-Men ’97” will debut in 2023. “Black Widow,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Doctor Stranger,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” “Captain Marvel,” and all three movies in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise are also streaming on Disney+. Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Jungle Cruise,” “Olaf Presents,” “The Simpsons in Plusaversary,” and “Home Sweet Home Alone,” are just some of the movies to premiere on the platform on Friday. Additionally, Disney+ announced more than 25 pieces of new content, and dozens of other teasers, first looks, trailers, and exclusive clips. For “Star Wars” fans, “Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett,” a film celebrating the origins of the legendary bounty hunter, debuted on Disney+ on Friday alongside a sneak peek at the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series starring Ewan McGregor, which premieres next year.
Speaking of role reprisals, Warwick Davis gets back into character as “Willow” in an upcoming series based on the fantasy film slated to debut on Disney+ in 2022. “The Beatles: Get Back,” a three-night event showcasing the legendary band performing “I’ve Got a Feeling,” begins streaming exclusively on Disney+ on November 25 (a clip of the special premiered on Friday). An animated “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” debuts on December 3, and “Welcome to Earth,” where Will Smith explores the great wonders of the planet, arrives on December 8. A reimagining of “Cheaper by the Dozen,” led by Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff, is coming to Disney+ in March 2022. Another family-friendly film, “Disenchanted” — the sequel to “Enchanted” starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey — premieres next fall, along with “Hocus Pocus 2,” starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy.
