It’s too early to tell if the Lego Star Wars AT-AT set will become one of the hottest “Star Wars” gifts this holiday season, but it’s certainly impressive. Announced in early November, the colossal LEGO set is an ultimate gift for die-hard fans that don’t mind spending big bucks on gear inspired by “Star Wars.” The humungous structure comes with more than 6,000 pieces — which is probably why it’s designed for ages 18 and older, plus it retails for a whopping $800 (a small price to pay for some collectors). “The mega-sized LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set is the one everyone has been waiting for, and it’s been a thrill to bring this highly-anticipated build to life,” LEGO designer Henrik Andersen said in a statement. “The AT-AT was an engineering masterpiece, and the LEGO set will make an impressive display. But we have also packed in plenty of details that will deliver hours of fun for fans of LEGO and Star Wars alike.”
The LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Set comes with nine minifigures, including Luke Skywalker (and a wire for fans to recreate the famous scene of him swinging from an AT-AT’s), General Veers, two AT-AT drivers, a Snowtrooper Commander, and four Snowtrooper minifigures. The mega-structure measures 24.5” x 27,” making it large enough to fit 40 Snowtrooper minifigures inside.

The AT-AT (All Terrian Armored Transport) first appeared on screen in “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.” Paying homage to the giant vehicles from the film franchise, the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT features 6,785 pieces in total, with a movable head, sliding side doors, adjustable legs, spinning guns, and side panels that open to reveal amazingly detailed interiors. The LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set is the latest piece in LEGO’s Ultimate Collector Series, which includes the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon set, LEGO Star Wars UCS A-wing set, and the LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship set.
